WWE continues to be linked with a host of talents from across the world, and their attentions seem to have focused a lot toward the Far East recently. A report from Fightful has suggested that the company has expressed interest in Tama Tonga internally.
The big Tongan has been a long-time performer for New Japan Pro Wrestling, and with the kind of success he’s had, especially as part of The Bullet Club, it looks like he has options aplenty if he were to look for pastures anew. He is also the reigning NEVER Openweight Champion, having beat current WWE and outgoing NHPW talent Karl Anderson at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on Wednesday at the Tokyo Dome.

Fightful’s report also stated that the possible interest in signing Tonga isn’t new, as word had spread through the NJPW locker room before Wrestle Kingdom 17. The legendary promotion’s sources also said that Tonga’s New Japan contract will end in weeks despite his recent title win.
Interestingly, WWE has also shown interest in Tonga’s brother, Hikuleo. He also had an offer from Vince McMahon & Co seven years ago, but Tonga turned it down to stay with NJPW and team with his brother, Tanga Loa.
