We now know that unless there is a significant shift, The Rock is unlikely to appear at WWE WrestleMania 39 as had been hoped due to the fact he doesn’t feel like he is in-ring shape and will not have enough time to prepare with his busy Hollywood schedule.

This leaves many wondering what WWE plans to do with Roman Reigns.
In a major update, Fightful Select reports that there has been a major pitch made to WWE Hall of Famer Steve Austin. The report notes that Austin vs. Roman Reigns has been put on the table and the company is willing to pay Austin an “enormous” amount of money to compete.
The money that is being offered to Austin is reportedly much more than that offered to him last year for WrestleMania 38.
WWE also pitched another match to Steve Austin
Stone Cold Steve Austin came out of retirement to battle Kevin Owens at WrestleMania 38 in a No Hold Barred match. He emerged victorious in the contest in front of his home crowd and also made a second appearance on Night 2 of the event. The segment ended with Austin hitting Vince McMahon with a stunner.

The latest reports suggested that Austin has been pitched a match against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39. Now according to new reports from Dave Meltzer, Austin had been pitched a fight against the Beast Incarnate Brock Lesnar. However, Meltzer also reported that the happenings in the RAW XXX episode most probably indicate that the match is not going to happen. It seems like Lesnar is booked to clash against Bobby Lashley at WrestleMania 39.
“The match that was pitched wasn’t Roman Reigns, it was Brock Lesnar,” WOR’s Dave Meltzer said. “But, as you can tell by the show tonight, it’s not happening. The match is not on, and it looks like it’s going to be Lesnar vs. Lashley, based on [Raw Is XXX],” Meltzer continued. “I don’t have that confirmed if it’s a WrestleMania match. Obviously they will both likely be in the Rumble and probably feud. Whether that means Montreal or WrestleMania, I don’t know, but it feels like it’s probably something to do with WrestleMania.”
There’s no word if Austin has accepted this offer but it would be massive news if he did.
