The prospect of WWE being sold has received a lot of attention lately.
According to John Ourand of The Sports Business Journal, when talks for both RAW and SmackDown start in 2023, NBCUniversal will likely aim to acquire the television rights to both shows before making a bid to buy the juggernaught entirely.
SmackDown was a part of the NBCU family from 2010 until 2019, whereas RAW has been affiliated with NBCUniversal since 2005. Then, in a $1 billion pact, WWE and FOX would start airing SmackDown on the network in October 2019. NXT will show on the USA Network on Tuesday nights thanks to agreements between WWE and NBCU.
The WWE library and live pay-per-view broadcasts are housed in Peacock, which is owned by NBCU, in the US.
