Former RAW Women’s Champion Sasha Banks has not been featured on WWE television since her infamous walkout of Monday Night RAW as she was suspended by the promotion. However, there have been multiple reports recently about her return.
There have also been reports that The Boss has been released by WWE and is no longer a WWE Superstar. Some also suggest that the multi-time world champion is considering a move to WWE’s rival promotion AEW.
In a recent interview with Sportskeeda wrestling, WWE legend Dutch Mantell explained why WWE did the right thing in releasing Sasha Banks. He feels that Sasha Banks is nearing her expiration date which is pretty normal.
“So, I don’t think, Sasha, how long has she been there? Ten years? Every performer and, every footballer, every basketball player has a shelf life. You put it on the shelf; you can almost look at that expiration date, especially on a can of beans. Instead, it’s a wrestler sitting there. And WWE, if they use them right, they’ve got eight years, five to then, and she is at the end of it.”
Sasha Banks will not be able to perform until 2023 as per her WWE contract. She is scheduled to wrestle NJPW’s Wrestle Kingdom 17 show in January. She has reportedly struck a deal with NJPW which also includes one Stardom date, which is most probably a major show the company has planned for the spring.
