AEW fans have not been happy with the way Wardlow’s TNT title reign was booked, and the manner in which he lost the title to Samoa Joe recently, and they have made their feelings clear multiple times.

Despite what they believe Tony Khan feels about the big man, the AEW President himself sees his employee in a very positive light.

Tony Khan stated that CM Punk never asked for Colt Cabana to be taken off the roster.

It is fair to say that Wardlow is one of the more popular and successful homegrown stars in AEW, although his booking has been a bit lukewarm since his win over and split from MJF. However,

Khan believes that Mr. Mayhem can become the future of the business, having said this during an appearance on AEW Unrestricted:

“I believe Wardlow probably, in many ways, has a good a chance to be the future of pro wrestling as anybody. He’s someone we really see as a star for the future here, and is a homegrown star.”

Having lost the TNT Championship at AEW Full Gear, fans wait to see how Wardlow recovers, and the words of Khan should give them solace that their favorite wrestler only has good things in store.

Wardlow Wants To Face Brock Lesnar

Wardlow wants a match with Brock Lesnar. He revealed on Barstool Rasslin that Lesnar would be his dream opponent. The former TNT Champion would appear to be onto a decent idea. Perhaps at the end of his AEW contract, he could jump over to WWE and it could happen.

This is what Wardlow said, “Lesnar’s the real deal … he’s the ultimate [beast], I think that’s the ultimate testament. I think in the game of professional wrestling it’s Lesnar and Wardlow.”
