Vince McMahon settled his lawsuit with Rita Chatterton, according to the Wall Street Journal. Rita Chatterton was a referee for WWE in the 1980s. She said that McMahon raped her back in 1986. Vince denies the allegation.

This is what the lawyer for Vince McMahon said regarding the settlement, “Mr. McMahon denies and always has denied raping Ms. Chatterton. And he settled the case solely to avoid the cost of litigation.”

Jerry McDevitt of course is a long-time member of Vince’s legal team. He helped Vince McMahon win his defense against charges from the federal government regarding steroid distribution. Rita Chatterton first brought up the allegation against Vince back in 1992, at roughly the same time that the steroid scandal was being picked up in the media.

Vince McMahon had to retire earlier this year for other allegations. Vince was said to have paid at minimum, 19 million dollars worth in payments for the various accusers to keep quiet. This scandal forced Vince to step down.

However, Vince McMahon returned as Chairman of the Board, earlier this month. His stated goal was to position WWE for a sale. Some, such as Meltzer have implied that he’ll eventually take full control of WWE again. As of right now, Nick Khan is CEO, and Triple H continues to be in charge of creative.

Should Vince have come back? What are your opinions regarding this?
