Roman Reigns is having the time of his life in WWE right now with his heel faction Bloodline. He is currently the face of the company and has not been pinned for over three years. At WrestleMania 38, Roman Reigns defeated Brock Lesnar to unify the world titles and is now the Undisputed WWE Universal Champion of the world.
However, Roman Reigns is more often seen in segments with his stable Bloodline these days. The Tribal Chief will be teaming up with Sami Zayn to battle Kevin Owens and John Cena on the 30th December episode of WWE SmackDown. According to Dave Meltzer, the inclusion of Cena in the storyline and the narrative around old friends Sami Zayn and Kevin Owens hints at the storyline moving further and playing a major part in next year’s PLEs.
”Given the time frame and being put in with Reigns and the two key guys the decision by the company was to make into even bigger stars while working with and against Reigns in the lead until this year’s WrestleMania, one would think it’ll be more than just a match and will be a major storyline step for the Rumble, Elimination Chamber in Montreal and Mania,” said Meltzer.
It is to be noted that John Cena’s last WWE match was against Roman Reigns at WWE Summerslam 2021. Cena lost on that day as Roman increased his record-setting Universal Championship reign.
