In light of rising interest from WWE, AEW President Tony Khan is hoping to sign three of his biggest stars to new, long-term contracts.

The stars in the discussion are THE ELITE –  The Young Bucks and Kenny Omega. The three men contributed to the success of All Elite Wrestling. Nevertheless, given that their existing contracts are about to expire, things could soon change.

The Elite have not yet re-signed with the Jacksonville-based promotion even though they are currently in the final year of their initial contracts. Many have come to feel that they may decide to leave All Elite Wrestling and join World Wrestling Entertainment as a result of this.

Dave Meltzer is quoted as saying the following on this week’s WON broadcast –

“AEW is working on signing the Young Bucks and Kenny Omega to new long-term deals well before they become free agents.”

When The Elite’s contracts with ROH and NJPW expired in 2018, WWE contacted them. But, they made the decision to support Tony Khan, creating All Elite Wrestling in the process.

One of the likely explanations for Tony Khan’s intense desire to quickly renew The Elite’s contracts is that one of the previous AEW World Trios Champions ought to be a free agent by this point.

According to recent reports, Kenny Omega’s contract was initially scheduled to end in January 2023, which would have made him a free agent at the time this article was published.

Omega will now be a free agent by the end of 2023 because of the length of time he missed working out in 2022, which was added to his contract.
