WWE announced on Thursday that the Money in the Bank 2023 premium live event would be held in London at the O2 Arena on July 1. This continues the trend of WWE returning to the United Kingdom for major main roster PLEs after a long gap.
NXT did have a TakeOver show in England’s capital in 2015, but it has been seen as more of a developmental brand despite its monstrous success, especially during the 2014-2021 phase. Hence, for main-roster PLEs in London or even the United Kingdom, WWE has not been seen since 1992.

The much-loved show will be the first major live event for WWE’s main roster in London since the Insurrextion pay-per-view in 2002. It will definitely be the company’s biggest show in London since SummerSlam 1992.
This could also see the British fans’ long-standing request for a WrestleMania to come to the UK come true. This might not happen in 2023 or 2024, but Money in the Bank going well could make that a reality sooner than expected.
