On Mick Foley’s podcast, Foley is Pod, he stated that his wife among others was not backstage. According to Mick Foley, said in 1996, she was celebrating her birthday and they were all in New York. However, she had to spend her birthday by herself because of the edict “No Wives.”

This is what Mick Foley said, “There’s an edict ‘no wives backstage.’ So my wife is celebrating her birthday. We take a trip together to New York to celebrate. She’s by herself. She’s going to be going to the show by herself. The edict comes down, ‘no wives.’ I was told that was the rule. So now my wife’s on her own, all day.”

Mick Foley and his wife have had other troubles related to wrestling. It's said that his wife considered leaving him, because she couldn't hardly stand to see Foley constantly being beat up to the degree he was in the attitude era.

I can understand his disappointment. It’s been over 20 years and he still brings it up. Was WWE being too heartless? Should they have allowed his wife backstage? Some might say that this is part of being in wrestling. Missing those special moments with your family.

That being said, I know my wife would have been mad if this happened to her.
