Keiji Muto (The Great Muta) has been on a farewell tour over the last few months as his in-ring career winds down to a close, and he’s faced a veritable who’s who of opponents during this phase. The Japanese legend, whose alter ego, The Great Muta, had his last singles match against Shinsuke Nakamura last month, recently revealed a short list of those he’d pick as his final opponent, and it’s quite the read.

Speaking to ABEMA TIMES, Muto disclosed Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Kazuchika Okada, or Hiroshi Tanahashi as potential sparring partners, even joking that the Hollywood star would be way too expensive to bring in. He did discuss Okada and Tanahashi:

“That’s part of it, and I also felt his (Shinsuke Nakamura’s) love for Keiji Muto from the beginning. So when I thought about who would be a good opponent (for my retirement match), I thought about calling Okada (Kazuchika), Tanahashi (Hiroshi), or even someone from NOAH, or even a foreign wrestler.”

Here’s what he had to say about any match with The Rock:

“To be frank, it seems that the fans of The Rock were also excited, but it seems that the company asked about it. But it’s impossible because of the enormous cost. Billions of dollars (laughs).”

Just imagine, The Rock as Muto’s final opponent! Now that’s what would break the internet for good!
