That’s right, they are the champions. The Elite, Kenny Omega & The Young Bucks, havedefeated Death Triangle on tonight’s episode of Dynamite. They won a crucial ladder match, the 7th and final match of the best of 7 series. Some fans won’t be happy about this, others will be ecstatic.
What did you think of the Best of Seven Series? The Elite and Death Triangle faced each other in a best-of-seven series that started at Full Gear. Some people really liked it, others were ready for it to end several matches back. The first matches were standard trios tag matches. Then they brought in special stipulations, like Falls Count Anywhere, and this aforementioned ladder match.
The Elite is the first, and third Trios Champions in AEW. Trios belts in companies rarely have a history of lasting long. NWA had their version, called the six-man tag team titles, but once the Road Warriors and their third partner lost them, they’d be quickly forgotten about and eventually deactivated. Here’s hoping the same doesn’t occur in AEW.
What happens next with the Elite? Is there a new group of three men to challenge them? What if the impossible happens and it’s FTR and CM Punk?
