Ronda Rousey recently dropped her SmackDown Women’s Championship to Charlotte Flair. Before her match with the Queen, she defeated Raquel Rodriguez in an engaging contest. However, she has not been featured on WWE programming since her loss and there have been a lot of questions about her future in the company.
On the latest episode of Smack Talk, Dutch Mantell, wrestling veteran Dutch Mantell opined that it will not make any sense for Ronda Rousey to continue her feud with Raquel Rodriguez.
“Charlotte may [draw] because she filled a position that needed to be filled. Ronda [Rousey] needed an opponent. If they try to run her with Raquel [Rodriguez] in a live event, that wouldn’t excite anybody, even on TV – nothing. They know who’s going to win, kind of. They hurt themselves worse. With Charlotte, you have a whole different set-up, a totally different outlook. Who knows what they can do with it? Give them the clay and see what they can mold with it. And we’ll know in 2 or 3 weeks whether it worked or not.”
Jim Cornette Hopes this is the end of the Ronda Rousey experiment
During a recent episode of Jim Cornette’s Drive-Thru, the controversial pro wrestling manager took a shot at Ronda Rousey. He straight up said that if Rousey didn’t enter WWE as a former UFC star, then she wouldn’t have what it takes to earn her spotlight.
“If Ronda Rousey did not have the name and reputation that she had from the MMA world or UFC, she wouldn’t be on television. There Charlotte’s a star and then there’s Ronda.”
“Hopefully, is this the end of the Rousey experiment? Ronda Rousey wanted to be a wrestler until she got a little taste of it. She wasn’t even a full-time wrestler. The first run, okay. Then she goes to have kids and raise goats. And I’m not even kidding folks, look it up.”
