Randy Orton won’t be back in WWE for a long time. He has been out since May. There had been hopes he wouldn’t have to have surgery but those hopes appear to have been for naught. Randy Orton had to have fusion surgery on his lower back.

WWE may count themselves lucky if they get Randy Orton. With his age and the length of his career, there could be a possibility of this being a career-ending injury. There are no plans of any sort for his return at this time. We certainly hope he can return, and we hope this isn’t the end of his career.

His final match to date, and hopefully not his last match ever, was SmackDown on May 20th. There he wrested alongside Matt Riddle against the Usos in a World Tag Title unification bout. It was during that match that he was said to have suffered his back injury. They lost the titles, and the Usos have held both the RAW and SmackDown title ever since.

We certainly hope that Randy Orton can make a successful recovery. As of right now, there is no word on if they’ll extend his contract. It is currently set to expire in 2024.
