The New Day, Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods will challenge Pretty Deadly for the NXT tag titles at AEW Deadline. This is the latest in a serious of decisions where Triple H has had main roster stars wrestle on major NXT events. Another example recently was Rhea Ripley, who wrestled Roxanne Perez.
The New Day are now considered legends of the tag team division. They once held the record for the longest tag title run in WWE history. However, the Usos have recently beaten that match. One set of titles they did not win was the NXT Tag Titles. On account of the iron grip on the tag belts that the Usos have, this seems to be pretty much the only way for a tag team in WWE right now.
Pretty Deadly have been the NXT tag champs for 91 days. They won the titles off of the Creed Brothers, at World’s Collide. They are hoping to retain their titles against the New Day at NXT Deadline. Will they be successful? Or should New Day actually win the titles, since it’s been a long time since they’ve had a reign? Is it time for their rotten luck this year, to change?
