Mickie James has won the Impact Knockouts Championship. Her “Last Rodeo” has ended. She made a promise last year that she would win the Impact Knockouts Title, or she would retire on her first loss. This was a stipulation that was very similar to that of Ric Flair during his famed retirement angle from 2008.
Mickie James faced Jordynne Grace on Hard to Kill, who has had a very game 2022 in her own right. Jordynne had pushed herself, and Impact Wrestling to a higher pedestal. She may find herself champion again in Impact, or perhaps for someone else’s company. Perhaps, the sky is the limit for her.
Where does Mickie James go from here? Does she make a surprise return at the Royal Rumble, as she did last year? She appeared in the 2022 Royal Rumble as Impact Knockouts Champion. Now that she has the title, she could appear again.
Regardless, the curious question is, if Mickie James loses the title, does her career end? One could imagine if her entire reign, however long that is, is a series of career vs title matches.
Mickie James is considered by many to be a legend in the wrestling business. She held multiple championships in WWE, and Impact Wrestling. Mickie became famous as she played a stalker character going after Trish Stratus. That culminated in a match at WrestleMania 22.
She’s one of the most decorated champions among female wrestlers. Between WWE and Impact Wrestling, Mickie James is a 11-time women’s champion. She is potentially the 2nd most decorated woman in wrestling history, behind Charlotte Flair.
Will be interesting to see where they go with her next.
