The New Japan Pro Wrestling debut of Mercedes Varnado, a.k.a. Sasha Banks, is anticipated to take place at Wrestle Kingdom 17 on January 4 from the Tokyo Dome.
Banks had to wait until 2023 for the non-compete clause to expire after months of negotiating her WWE departure.
On Sunday morning, Banks tweeted cryptically about taking a chance on something she loves, writing the following in the caption:
“When you take a risk doing what you love, that’s exciting.”
This past week, Banks filed to trademark the name Moné Banks, which appears to be her new ring name.
