Mone debuted for New Japan Pro Wrestling at the Wrestle Kingdom 17 event earlier this month by attacking IWGP Women’s Champion KAIRI after her title defense against Tam Nakano. This set up a future title showdown between the two former WWE stars at NJPW Battle in the Valley in San Jose, California on February 18.

During a chat with NJPW, Moné discussed how her new character will differ from her WWE tenure, saying:

“I think you can already see from my name alone, it’s an evolution. I’m not a boss anymore, I’m a CEO. I’m going to run every division that I step foot in. I’ve been training for this match since October, and on top of my 12 years of experience already.”

Moné was then told that the match with KAIRI would be her first in nine months, to which the former RAW and SmackDown Women’s Champion had an amused response:

“Right? It’s like a little baby.”
