Mercedes Mone joining and debuting for NJPW at its annual mega show, Wrestle Kingdom 17, more or less sent the internet into a meltdown. She is now slated to face KAIRI at next month’s Battle in the Valley after attacking the IWGP women’s champion during her showstopping first appearance for the company.
What also caught the attention of fans worldwide was the fact that with AEW and New Japan Pro Wrestling enjoying a healthy working relationship, the former Sasha Banks could realistically appear on the former’s shows in the near future. One person who dearly hopes that is the case is Paul Wight.

During a chat with TMZ Sports, Wight, one of the earliest WWE stars to move to AEW, said that “any company” would do well to pursue Mone’s signature.
“I think she’d be a tremendous asset to any company. She’s a star and has an incredible fan following. Any company would be glad to have her.”
One of the biggest rumors doing the round is that Mercedes Mone could appear in AEW at this week’s Dynamite in Los Angeles as Saraya’s mystery partner for her tag match against Britt Baker and Jamie Hayter. At this point, the former WWE superstar not joining AEW would be a massive disappointment, despite nothing concrete suggesting that to be the case so far.
Would Mercedes Mone in AEW be a game-changer?
