According to Wrestlinginc, Matt Riddle & Austin Theory to get their names back. Matt Riddle was already called Matt on last night’s RAW, with Theory rumored to return to using his full name. This is a reversal of course for a Vince McMahon policy of shortening names… and sometimes outright changing them.
Matt Riddle became just Riddle almost two years ago, while Theory lost his first name after winning the US title this year. One issue that some have noted in regards to the name changes is that it decreases their search profile on google. If you want to learn about “Theory” right now, you need to know his name or add “WWE to the search. Whereas if you search Jon Moxley, his AEW full name as stated, you’ll have no issues whatsoever.
Other names may or may not change. Shotzi Blackheart became Shotzi, for example. It could revert. Beyond that, names like Butch and Doudrop are rumored to go away. Doudrop might revert to either Viper or Piper Niven. Butch might become Pete Dunne again. Only time will tell.
