Former WWE Superstar Matt Cardona has commented on one goal he still wants to achieve in WWE.

Cardona started off in the Stamford-based promotion in 2005. After plying his trade in the developmental territories, he earned his main roster call-up two years later in 2007. The same year he was repackaged as Zack Ryder, a name we are all familiar with.

Later in his career, he had a successful run in WWE NXT and on the main roster as well. In an interview with Chris Van Vliet on Insight, Matt Cardona explained that he wants to have a WrestleMania match before retiring. He also expressed his desire of becoming the WWE Champion.  Cardona said

“I’ll put it out there, one goal that I’ve been saying for a long time is to win that WWE championship. That’s not a lie. I’d be lying to you right now. Listen, when I got released, the goal was not to get back to WWE. It wasn’t like, oh, what can I do to make them notice me? What can I do to get back to WWE? You can’t think like that. I certainly can’t. But I would be lying if I said, I never want to wrestle at Madison Square Garden again, or I never want to have a WrestleMania match. Of course I do, because WWE is number one.”

In the same interview, the 37-year-old also stated that he would not reveal if he has spoken to WWE over a possible return. He labeled himself the internet sensation and noted that he wants the people to keep guessing and talking about him which would help his cause.

During his tenure with WWE, Cardona has won the United States Championship, Intercontinental Championship and the RAW Tag Team Championship. Do you want him back in the company? Sound off in the comments section below!
