In a surprisingly short period of time, Wardlow established himself as a notable figure in All Elite Wrestling and gathered a considerable following. Even better, he kept the TNT Championship for a considerable amount of time before winning it once more at AEW Revolution. But after the event, everything went south when he lost the crown. Now it appears that Konnan thinks Wardlow will defect to WWE as a result of his subpar booking in AEW.

A significant figure in AEW is allegedly considering joining WWE owing to bad booking choices that have caused the star to lose momentum in Tony Khan’s organization. The artist in question is none other than former TNT Champion Wardlow, who formerly held a position as one of the promotion’s top performers and frequently elicited raucous applause from the crowd.

He then lost the TNT Championship, and since then his momentum waned. He then took a break from the promotion, only to come back and pick up his fight with Samoa Joe again. The championship Wardlow had previously held at Revolution 2023 was eventually won again by him, although his reign was brief as he lost it to Powerhouse Hobbs on the next Dynamite, just days later. Calling many fans and experts to call out Tony Khan to question what he is playing at.

Wardlow

Wardlow’s current state in AEW was a topic of discussion for Konnan during his appearance on the Keepin’ It 100 podcast. Tony Khan and AEW have come under fire for how they handled the gifted performer, and Konnan has chimed in to say that there isn’t a good explanation for Wardlow’s poor booking unless there are problems behind the scenes. The WCW legend added that Mr. Mayhem might be thinking about a future in WWE, the competition to AEW.

“I’m not saying that he can’t be rehabilitated, but there was no reason to do what you’ve done to him. Unless he has heat. But the only thing you’re doing is – this guy who is good-looking, young, good wrestler, athletic, good promo, likable – he’s probably thinking: ‘What am I doing here? Maybe I should go to WWE,’ and I’m sure they’d love to have him. But I think they dropped the ball on him.”
