Lio Rush was injured at Wrestle Kingdom 17. He took a severe cut over his right eyebrow that left his face covered in blood. This wasn’t a planned blading spot, but a legitimate accident.
This is what Lio Rush tweeted, “Nasty spill last night on the ramp left me with a few stitches and a massive headache. No broken facial bones. Thank you to the #NJPW staff for taking care of me. I’ll be good. Unfortunately, BOLA is out the question. See ya in a few weeks,”
Lio Rush was booked for PWG’s Battle of Los Angeles, however, he will not be able to attend. It’s not known which show, and where he’ll return at.
Lio Rush is notable for a run in NXT that saw him often combative with WWE personnel there. One famous incident included Lio objecting to a T-Shirt that he considered potentially racist. He was released in 2000 due to budget cuts, and he couldn’t seem happier.
He joined AEW for a short run in 2021. His run wasn’t very remarkable, as he was only under contract for apparently a few months. He departed in 2022 and has since made criticisms of Tony Khan, and how TK handled Lio’s booking in AEW.
We hope that Lio Rush has a speedy recovery and can get back to work, where ever he might turn up. What do you think of Lio?
