The “Wrestling God” made a triumphant return on this week’s AEW Dynamite episode as Kenny Omega faced El Hijo del Vikingo in a “International Dream Match”—his first AEW singles fight in nearly 18 months.
Dave Meltzer has now given the match a grade of five stars. Meltzer wrote in the most recent issue of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter,
Meltzer noted –
“Notes from the 3/22 tapings in Independence, MO. This was the taping built around Kenny Omega vs. El Hijo del Vikingo, who had a ***** match and one of the best television matches in the history of the company and the single most spectacular television match.”
