Kairi Sane has become the first-ever IWGP women’s champion. After years of being an exclusive male promotion, with female wrestlers having to work in exclusive female… Joshi… promotions. New Japan has taken efforts as of late to integrate female wrestling into the promotion.

Kairi Sane faced Tam Nakano at Historic X-Over. Back in 2021, Tam Nakano, Kairi, and others began to feature in New Japan wrestling. This has likely been a response to the growth of women’s wrestling across the world including main event matches at WrestleMania.

American Fans might know Kairi from her time in WWE. There she was a former NXT Champion and a WWE Women’s Tag Team Champion. She suffered a few bad injuries in WWE that left fans critical of WWE overall. She left in 2021 with the expiration of her contract.

As a pairing, Asuka and Kairi Sane have a lot of potential. However many fans believe they weren't booked well for what could have been. However they are former Tag Team Champions.

Kairi Sane went to Stardom, and later to NJPW. Here she seems to be leading the way as the Women’s Revolution spreads across the world of wrestling. Congratulations Kairi! Are you happy about her success?
