Over the years, Goldberg has been one of the dominant superstars in WWE. He is fondly remembered for his extraordinary winning streak in WCW too. There have been very few occasions when Goldberg has come out second in a fight or a brawl.

Recalling such an incident, there was a time when Goldberg got involved in a backstage brawl against current AEW and former WWE star Chris Jericho. Speaking n this week’s episode of his Grilling JR podcast, former WWE commentator Jim Ross recalled the locker room brawl between the two WWE legends.

He compared Chris Jericho to a pitbull and revealed that Goldberg could have passed out as he struggled to get out of the former’s front facelock. He also revealed that he was an eye witness to the incident.

“I walked into the locker room. I don’t remember what city we were in, but it was a big a** locker room. Bigger than normal. I walked in just as Jericho was applying the front facelock. So, I was an eyewitness. And Jericho was like a pit bull; he was relentless. He wouldn’t even let go. Sooner or later, the other guy passes out. You restrict the flow of blood to the brain; the option is deprived, nighty night. It has got the same effects as a rear naked choke; if you’re an MMA fan, you just lose your senses.”

Chris Jericho joined AEW in its inception year 2019 and was the first AEW World Champion. Do you want Chris Jericho to return to WWE? Sound off in the comments section below!

WWE Star Goldberg Contract To Expire

Some claimed that Goldberg had signed a two-year deal with WWE, with five matches guaranteed.

Per Fightful Select (subscription required), those close to Goldberg have indicated that this is NOT the case, with one individual telling Fightful:

“That would be news to his reps that negotiate those kinds of deals.”

The report noted that Goldberg’s current WWE deal runs through 2022, however, there are no matches remaining for Goldberg to wrestle.

The wrestling veteran’s most recent match took place at the Elimination Chamber premium live event, when he unsuccessfully challenged for Roman Reigns’ Universal Championship.

Goldberg has since teased a rematch, firing shots at Roman Reigns over his offense.
