During the latest “My World” podcast, Jarrett said:

“Hopefully we get some announcements out sooner rather than later, but there’s a lot of cool things … The WWE is a 40, 50, 60-year-old company, the lineage goes back three or four generations.”

“AEW, I mean people may or may not take this the right way, but in a lot of ways it’s no longer the embryo, it’s been born, but it’s still in the infant stages. It’s really cool.”

Jeff Jarrett clarified that he would be working backstage for AEW as a Senior Vice President of Live Events. AEW has only produced televised events and pay-per-view shows so far.

Dustin Rhodes on Jeff Jarrett

Dustin Rhodes took the time on the podcast, “Sports Guys Talking Wrestling” to give his take on Jeff Jarrett joining AEW. This is what Dustin Rhodes said.

“It’s going to be great. He has quite an extensive background for stuff like this, for the live events, for international, and distribution, and things of that nature. He’s been behind the camera and in the truck, and as a director running the shows with TNA… I think he’s going to make an immediate impact.”

While Dustin Rhodes didn’t mention WWE specifically, he is spot-on about Jeff’s experience. With Impact Wrestling, Global Force, and WWE, he has held several backstage positions. Notably, the current format of house shows in WWE is based on Jeff Jarrett’s design.
