AEW world champion MJF is on top of the world right now, having finally won the big one and beginning his reign of terror as only he can. However, at the beginning of the year, such a win looked unlikely, with the young star seemingly at odds with Tony Khan, leading him to miss a lot of shows.

The AEW President recently commented on how Maxwell Jacob Friedman is backstage, revealing that ‘he can be difficult off-camera:

“MJF, I think, is one of the most charismatic and intelligent pro wrestlers on the planet. And there are fans worldwide compelled by his actions and take notice every time he speaks. This is me 100% of the time, 365 days a year. It doesn’t change. You can ask people in my industry — and people have — and then fans are like, ‘Oh, these other people are just keeping up the ruse.’ This is me. My own experiences dealing with him, I’ve found him to be more difficult in some ways off camera, if that’s even possible.”

As someone who rarely breaks character, been outside the ring, MJF is bound to rile up people, but the fact that he has become the top man in AEW despite what Khan has said proves how talented he is and how he is valued by management.
