Hit Row turns heel after what many called, a faced babyface run. Top Dolla faced Ricochet for a qualifying match for the 2023 Royal Rumble match, which Ricochet won. Afterward, Top Dolla went to shake his hand but attacked him instead. Signifying a heel turn.

Hit Row returned on the August 12th edition of SmackDown. Their arrival was briefly interesting but quickly fell apart. It was clear to many that Hit Row was simply not getting over. Some said it was never meant to be. Others said that the group didn’t work without Swerve Strickland. Swerve is currently in AEW and has been involved in a feud against Keith Lee.

Afterward, Hit Row’s angles gradually decreased. They went from being a high-profile newcomer tag team to losing to everyone. Top Dolla made an infamous botched leap over the top rope that was the source of much ridicule. They lost to the Usos in an attempt to take their titles. It wasn’t going well for them.

Now that Hit Row has turned heel, it will be interesting to see where they go next. Will this be the turn needed to save their run in WWE? Will it fall flat?
