Gunther has been treated like a star over the past few months, and that has helped him restore prestige to WWE’s Intercontinental Championship. He may have almost lost the faith of management under Vince McMahon, but Triple H’s ascension has seen him become a featured player.

Recent events involving McMahon’s comeback and takeover of the board have raised a lot of questions, including about the future of the company. Although there have been rumors flying around that WWE could be sold to the Saudi Arabia Public Interest Fund purchased, that has not been the same so far.

Stephanie McMahon recently quit WWE

During a recent chat with The Dallas Morning News, Gunther was questioned about reports of WWE getting sold, but he was steadfast in his response:

“I mean, rumors are rumors. And at the end of the day, I’m not the CEO. I’m a wrestler. So, I focus on what I do in the ring and leave the business to those who do business.”

He was also asked about Stephanie McMahon resigning as Chairwoman and co-CEO of the company earlier this week, and he wished her all the best:

“To be fair, I only had very brief interactions with her. She’s always been very nice and very lovely. And yeah, I’m happy for her that she’s going to be able now to take time off and enjoy time with her family. And yeah, I think you should be happy for anyone who’s in a position to do that. All the best to her.”

Gunther will defend his Intercontinental title against Braun Strowman this Friday’s on SmackDown, and fans will hope he can beat the monster to continue his awesome reign.
