Every January when the Royal Rumble comes around, WWE fans have grown to expect the unexpected as former WWE stars or wrestlers from other firms make surprise appearances in the annual Royal Rumble battle.

Many supporters of Bray Wyatt hope that Erick Rowan will follow suit and come around to his side in WWE after the latter’s comeback this past year. Rowan stated recently on the “Ten Count” podcast that he is uncertain as to whether WWE wants him to return for the upcoming Royal Rumble event.

He said

“As far as appearing [at the Royal Rumble], I would be the last to know,” Rowan told Fall. “I feel like fans figure out [about returns] through [dirt sheets] … and I sometimes feel like you’ll hear rumors and then all of a sudden they come true. That’s why I always say, I always laugh, ‘I’ll probably hear a rumor,’ I don’t know.”

In March 2020, on the final “WWE Raw” before COVID-19 lockdowns began, Rowan made his final WWE appearance. As part of the company’s pandemic layoffs, the two-time WWE SmackDown Tag Team champion was later released from his contract. Since then, he has intermittently competed on the independent circuit. Following the passing of his longtime Wyatt Family teammate Luke Harper, a.k.a. AEW’s Brodie Lee, Rowan has made multiple appearances in AEW as Erick Redbeard in recent years.

Who else would you like to see appear at the WWE Royal Rumble?
