It has been more than seven months since AEW’s top female star and former Champion, Thunder Rosa, suffered an injury. Rosa announced her departure from in-ring action and relinquished her AEW Women’s World Champion title on AEW Dynamite. To determine an interim champion, a four-way match was scheduled for All Out, featuring Britt Baker, Jamie Hayter, Hikaru Shida, and Toni Storm.
During a recent appearance on the Busted Open WrestleMania Party, Rosa provided an update on her status. She states that fans often ask her about her return to the ring either in person or via Twitter and until now had given no clear indication of her injury. However, she has now informed us that she has not yet been cleared to compete.
That’s the question everyone asks me during the signings. Unfortunately, I wasn’t cleared and I don’t think I’m going to be cleared anytime soon. I need another MRI.
