According to a report by PWInsider, Drew McIntyre current WWE contract is set to expire in the near future. Although there is still time left on the contract, negotiations for a new deal between McIntyre and WWE have not progressed significantly.
This could lead to McIntyre becoming a free agent, and potentially entertaining offers from other wrestling promotions like AEW or NJPW.

McIntyre has been a key player for WWE since his return in 2015, winning the WWE Championship and helping the company expand into the UK market. WWE is likely to want to keep him on board, but the situation is still up in the air.
On Sunday’s WrestleMania 39 card, Drew McIntyre will be competing in a three-way match against Gunther and Sheamus for the WWE Intercontinental title.
McIntyre’s journey in WWE began in 2017 after he spent several years on the independent wrestling circuit rebranding himself following his 2014 release from the company.
McIntyre had a successful run in WWE during the pandemic, winning the WWE Championship twice, and headlining Clash at the Castle in Cardiff, Wales against Roman Reigns in September 2022.
In addition to his WWE Championship wins, he is also a former WWE NXT Champion, two-time WWE Raw Tag Team Champion, and WWE Intercontinental Champion.
