Lionel Messi shaked hand with paradise yesterday as he won his first World Cup – a dream he has been chasing for a long time. He came close 8 years ago in 2014 but lost to Germany in the final in Brazil. However, he did go a step further this time in Qatar as Argentina defeated France 4-2 in penalties as the game ended 3-3 after extra time.
There has been a long lasting debate between fans of Lionel Messi and his rival Cristiano Ronaldo over the greatest of all time. Ronaldo’s wordl cup campaign has been a journey to forget as Portugal got knocked out by Morocco in the quarter finals. Moreover Cristiano Ronaldo saw himself start from the bench in the knockout stages due to his poor form.
After Lionel Messi’s world cup triumph yesterday, fans of the Argentine wonderboy are considering the debate to be over. Many of them even believe that there was never a debate. Among those is former WWE world Champion Drew McIntyre who took to Twitter to express his views on the topic after Argentina lifted their third world cup.
He congratulated Messi, who scored two goals in the match and also was accurate during the penalty shootout. Here is what he wrote:
“Can it be denied anymore? The greatest to ever play the game. Congrats to Messi and Argentina!”
However this is not the first time Drew McIntyre has tweeted during the world cup. He has been quite active on Twitter during the mega event which portrays his love for the beautiful game.
