Drew McIntyre was taken off of SmackDown, as announced on Monday Night Raw. He was originally set to be part of a tag team match with Sheamus, against the Usos for the WWE Tag Team titles. However he has been replaced by Butch.

Drew McIntyre tweeted, “Unfortunately I am medically disqualified to compete this Friday on #Smackdown,” McIntyre tweeted. “I don’t like to miss any shows as everybody knows but I promise I’ll be back soon.”

Butch and Sheamus will be facing the Usos at SmackDown. It was originally supposed to be Drew and Sheamus.

The injury is not a storyline as reported by Wrestling Inc, but the nature of the injury hasn’t as of yet been disclosed. Drew McIntyre was also pulled off of Live Events, likely relating to that unknown injury. How bad is Drew injured? When will he come back?

Drew McIntyre won the 2020 Royal Rumble. He also eliminated Brock Lesnar during that match. This result led to his first of two title reigns when he defeated Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania 38. Will he ever win a third world title in WWE?
