Fans are speculating on social media about the meaning behind some tweets posted by WWE Vice President William Regal, which have since been deleted.

Posted on Wednesday, the tweets are shrouded in mystery, and some suspect they are connected to “internet rumors” that Regal left his AEW contract by taking advantage of Tony Khan’s vulnerable state when his mother was in the hospital.

Additionally, some have suggested that Regal may not have been forthcoming about his intentions for returning to WWE. There is talk on wrestling Twitter that Regal is perceived as a “snake” by some backstage at AEW for allegedly playing to Khan’s emotions to get out of his contract.

In late 2022, William Regal departed from AEW by declining to have his option picked up by the company, a decision that was respected and agreed upon by Tony Khan and AEW.

Williams’s son Charlie Dempsey is currently employed by the NXT Brand
