Brian Cage, known as ‘The Machine’, is currently in a state of flux as his contract with All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and Ring of Honor (ROH) has expired. Despite reports indicating that his deal was set to expire in the upcoming weekend, the expiration date was slightly earlier than anticipated. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, Cage is said to be receiving interest from Tony Khan, his current boss, as well as WWE officials.

Recent reports from Fightful Select have stated that Brian Cage is now a free agent following his signing with AEW in 2020. It has been revealed that Cage’s contract with AEW officially expired at midnight after ROH Supercard of Honor, where he and his team, The Embassy, emerged victorious against AR Fox, Blake Christian, and Metalik to retain their Six-Man Tag Team titles.
Cage is presently working without a contract as both parties continue to negotiate. AEW has offered him both a long-term and a short-term extension, but he has yet to make a decision. While some members of AEW are pushing for him to re-sign with the promotion, others in the WWE roster are eager to have him on their team.
This recent development comes only three weeks after Chris Jericho revealed in an interview with the Daily Star UK that Brian Cage was a free agent after signing with AEW in 2020. It is unclear whether Cage will choose to continue working with AEW, join WWE, or explore other options in the future.
Jericho stated
“I think Brian Cage over the last six months is the best Brian Cage has ever been,” Jericho explained.
“I think he’s finally starting to understand some of the psychology of wrestling rather than just moves and that sort of thing.
“He is one of a kind with his size and agility, but now there is more intensity and I think he’s really understanding who he is as a wrestler.
