The 2023 AEW Revolution PPV featured FTR’s return to the organization following a brief absence.
From the beginning of the year, FTR has been absent from the scene. On his podcast, Dax Harwood said that Cash Wheeler had been given permission to take some time off while they considered their next move.
The pro-wrestling community has voiced several predictions regarding what FTR would do after their announcement. Dax also indicated that their upcoming run in the wrestling profession might be their last. They have returned to AEW, which suggests that they have made a decision about their future.
However last night we learned that one of the world’s greatest tag teams appears to have unfinished AEW business and now we are learning they are tied to long-term deals – Mike Johnson of PWInsider.com noted how
“the belief was that FTR are locked into long-term deals with AEW and their disappearance and tease of going elsewhere was just a storyline cover.”
Its been reported backstage that AEW did everything possible to keep the return of FTR a surprise and Fightful.com noted how it “was kept very quiet backstage.”
