Former WWE Superstar Alberto Del Rio has commented on a potential return to the Stamford-based promotion. Del Rio, who is a former World Heavyweight Champion, WWE Champion, and a Royal Rumble winner has had two different stints with the global juggernaut.
His first one ended in 2013 due to improper conduct. However, he did return in 2015 but was released again a year later. After parting ways with WWE, Del Rio went back to AAA where he started off as a wrestler. Del Rio ended his career in 2018 after getting done with Impact Wrestling.
Triple H, after taking charge of the creative earlier this year, has brought back a lot of underutilized talent. His latest addition was Bronson Reed who made a comeback on this week’s episode of Monday Night RAW. During a recent interview on Ten Count, Del Rio spoke on if he has spoken to the new regime about a return. Here is what he said.
“To be honest I haven’t talked to the new administration, I did when John Laurinaitis was around and a couple of phone calls that didn’t go anywhere and then you know it happened what happened. We have a new administration doing fantastic things.”
There have been differences between Triple H and Alberto Del Rio in the past. However, Del Rio have kept the distances aside and did praise the Game for his contribution to the pro wrestling industry after the former announced his retirement a year back.
