According to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the issue stems from FTR dropping the titles to Dralistico and Dragon Lee. Tony Khan knew about Dragon Lee’s contract negotiations with WWE, but he okayed the booking decision because he thought FTR would be losing to Dralistico and RUSH. Since RUSH is a contracted AEW talent, Khan had no issue with the booking idea.
However, Dragon Lee ended up vacating the titles and departing for WWE, which was AAA’s way of “rubbing AEW’s face in it.”
To make matters worse and escalate things, WWE published a story to ESPN with footage of FTR taking the loss. AAA maintains that Lee and Dralistico were the pushed team, so that’s why they made the decision to put the titles on them.
Can @Konnan5150 ease the issues between @AEW and @luchalibreaaa ? Or will the relationship continue to fall apart?

Tony Khan and AEW pulled stars from a AAA event at the last minute
The relationship between AAA and AEW may be strained after the latter pulled Tay Melo from the recent AAA Noche de Campeones event at the end of December.
Melo and fiancé Sammy Guevara were due to defend the AAA World Mixed Tag Team Championships at the show but did not make the event.
Instead, Melo competed on that week’s AEW Dynamite, teaming with Anna Jay to defeat Ruby Soho and Willow Nightingale.
While speaking on Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that “AAA wasn’t thrilled” with AEW’s decision to keep her in the U.S.
In a Triple Threat Match at Wednesday night’s AAA Noche De Campeones event, the two AEW wrestlers were scheduled to defend their championships against Lady Shani & Octagon Jr and Komander & Sexy Star II.
It is commonly known that they had a conflict with AEW Dynamite on Wednesday night in Broomfield, Colorado.
When the couple postponed the promotion three times, AAA booker Konnan announced that he would be vacating the belts just before the scheduled event. He continued by inserting Flammer and Abismo Negro Jr. into the contest, which Flammer & Negro Jr. won to win the crowns.
