Jake “The Snake” Roberts, a member of the WWE Hall of Fame, has been a part of AEW since 2020. Roberts managed Lance Archer when he first joined AEW, and the collaboration was moderately successful. Having said that, it appears the business considered utilizing a mechanical snake for Roberts at one point but abandoned the idea because of the cost.
Jake Roberts has extensive experience working with WWE and is familiar with Vince McMahon’s methods. He even criticized Vince McMahon in the past for degrading wrestlers. He is a veteran as well, therefore his judgment is respected.
Jake Roberts used to frighten his rivals with his spooky advertisements and genuine snake. Roberts has made multiple appearances on AEW TV, but during that time his famous snake has only made a single solo appearance.
While speaking on The Pit with Jake Roberts, Jake Roberts revealed that AEW discussed having Roberts use a mechanical snake.

He stated
“To have the snake move like a snake and come up and open its mouth and all that sh*t … I would love that,” he said. “I wouldn’t mind traveling with that, put it in a small suitcase and throw it overhead.”
Jake The Snake Roberts On Vince McMahon
Jake Roberts is not shy about saying what is on his mind. On his podcast, the Snake Pit, he lets it’s loose about what he has against Vince McMahon. He cites how Vince will help some people, and ignore others. Jake also talks about how it is difficult to have a relationship with Vince.
This is what Jake Roberts said. “You can’t have a relationship with Vince McMahon. He’s not gonna let you get that close to him. I think he respects me and I respect him. Vince did a great thing for wrestling, but he could have done it a whole lot better if he would have just been more fair, if he would have paid the guys better, if he would have taken care of the guys after they got busted up.”
Jake Roberts feels Vince was wrong by not helping Kamala. “That’s my b*tch. You’re a big billionaire and you got guys rotting and dying needing help. The worst was probably Kamala who desperately needed help. He made Vince a lot of fu*king money. He was a big draw. I do know that Vince helped Scott Hall, but he didn’t help Kamala and that just rubs me the wrong way.”
