The Rock returning to WWE in 2023 is heavily rumored and with the Royal Rumble event coming up there is every chance he could make a surprise appearance.
There has been speculation concerning The Rock’s return for a while, including the PPV poster featuring electricity, and now bull-themed Royal Rumble merchandise on sale on WWE Shop.
If The Rock does return to the company, all money is on him competing against Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39 in Los Angeles.
Is this a major clue that The Rock is returning to #WWE?

WWE Want The Rock At Wrestlemania
As we reported last week, WWE WrestleMania is the biggest season for pro wrestling, and it definitely is the most important time for WWE to bring out the big guns and pull out all the stops.
The same can be said for next year’s iteration, which will be held on Saturday, April 1, 2023, and Sunday, April 2, 2023, at the SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, California.
So massive are the plans heading into the Mania 39 season that WWE is hoping that The Rock, Stone Cold, and John Cena all make their presence felt at the mega event. As per Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer Radio (h/t Subhojeet Mukherjee of Ringside News),
Austin is “probably the surest of the three” to be there, as “it’s just a question of how he feels, and he’s gonna do what he feels like doing.”
The veteran pro wrestling journalist classified Cena as “probable” to be at WrestleMania 39 and The Rock as “possible.”
The former’s last appearance at the Showcase of the Immortals was at WrestleMania 36, while The Rock has been heavily touted to take on real-life cousin Roman Reigns in what will surely be the biggest pro wrestling going around if it does happen.
As for Austin, he returned to the ring after 19 years at this year’s WrestleMania, beating Kevin Owens in a much-appreciated No Holds Barred match.
He was apparently also offered another match by WWE after the success of his comeback, as reported in November by Fightful Select (h/t H Jenkins of Ringside News), so it remains to be seen if he does agree to come back once again, and whether he will wrestle or not.
